The concept of Trauma-Informed Care is becoming a much bigger part of the conversation in our communities, and rightly so! It is an experience that we all face as human beings. Our contemporary approach to healing and well-being is a shifting landscape, away from an old paradigm of being told by someone in a position of power how we feel and what we need - to a person-centred and collaborative exploration. In this 85 minute lecture we discuss the principles of trauma-informed care and how we can approach these within the CranioSacral Therapy setting. We discuss topics such as Window of Tolerance, Titration and Pendulation, Movement Release, Dissociation and a Mindfulness-based approach - and more! Subtitles in Chinese and Finnish are available.
Due to the unique physical, emotional and social challenges experienced by women with ADHD, we require a unique therapeutic approach in supporting these women. In this 75 minute lecture we cover the details of how ADHD is uniquely expressed in women, the specific symptoms they can experience and how CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release can support these women in finding a sense of balance and the opportunity to thrive.
Clinically we are seeing a significant increase in the number of clients diagnosed with POTS (positional orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), Dysautonomia and Chronic Fatigue illnesses. These issues are complex in presentation and extremely debilitating for the client, affecting energy levels, cognition, sleep, hormones, digestion and lifestyle capacity. CranioSacral Therapists are well placed to support these clients, however a careful approach is required as at times even the gentlest of techniques can be destabilising on the autonomic nervous system. This 75 minute lecture (originally recorded via live Zoom call) covers the details of these syndromes and disorders as well as how to modify your approach to support the complexity of the clients system. The lecture concludes with a Q+A. Subtitles in Chinese and Finnish (Suomi) are available.
